Furukawa Konatsu is the oldest member in Up Up Girls (Kari)'s current lineup. Prior to the graduation of former leader Sengoku Minami, she was the second oldest. Her image color is Pink after being chosen first during the color assignment draw.[1]

Early Life to Trainee

Furukawa Konatsu was born in Kanagawa, Japan on June 5th, 1992. She was a fan of Morning Musume from a young age and auditioned to be a part of Hello! Project Kids. [2] Although she was unsuccessful, she auditioned again in 2004 to be a part of Hello! Project Eggs.

From 2004 to 2010, she remained an "Egg" or Hello! Project trainee until a change in the trainee system. Up Front Group, parent of Hello! Project, announced Hello! Project Eggs in high school would be required to leave. Those in middle school had a choice to stay, but that later changes. Being part of the first generation of trainees, she was in her last year of high school and given no other option but to complete her training and leave. [3]

Up Up Girls (Kari)

In 2011, she was placed in Up Front Girls alongside Sengoku Minami, Mori Saki, Sato Ayano, Sekine Azusa, and Arai Manami. Saho Akari joined a few months later. During the first few months of the formation, five members including Furukawa were placed in UFZS. UFZS is a cover group specializing in KPop girl groups.
